Hal Broxmeyer, PhD, Chair Emeritus of the NDRI Board and Distinguished Professor at the Indiana University School of Medicine, has received an National Institutes of Health (NIH) R35, Outstanding Investigator Grant from the National Heart, Lung and Blood Institute (NHLBI). This grant support provides 7 years of funding and will commence on May 1, 2018. The R35 grant focuses on the roles of hypoxia and the enzyme dipeptidylpeptidase 4 (DPP4/CD26) on the functions of hematopoietic stem and progenitor cells for enhanced engraftment for clinical hematopoietic cell transplantation.

In addition, Dr. Broxmeyer leads research programs with support through additional grant mechanisms of the NHLBI and the National Institute of Diabetes and Digestive and Kidney Disease (NIDDK).
