NDRI specializes in meeting researchers' needs for human organs and tissues by creating customized recovery protocols that can be used for an array of experimental techniques. Human tissues are available from surgical, autopsy, and low post mortem to preservation interval (PMI) donors. NDRI can provide a variety of cardiovascular and respiratory services:
Prospective Recoveries: NDRI works with organ procurement organizations, tissue banks, and hospital partners to obtain consent and recover tissue from donors for biomedical research. Tissues are recovered based on investigator-defined donor and preservation requirements and can be shipped to researchers fixed, frozen, or fresh in media with antibiotics. All tissue samples are deidentified with available donor medical/social history data.
Biospecimen Inventory: NDRI maintains a large inventory of various frozen and fixed tissue samples as a resource for investigators who are in need of tissue quickly. Tissues available include rare diseased and HIV samples.
