NDRI continues to monitor the spread of COVID-19 in the US and the actions being taken by our transplant partners (the federally designated organ procurement organizations), as required or recommended by federal regulatory and oversight bodies including the Eye Bank Association of America, American Association of Tissue Banks, FDA, and CDC. 

NDRI will screen donor referrals from our partners, with the inclusion of additional screening questions being asked of donor families to minimize the risk of spreading COVID-19.  As screening for COVID-19 continues to evolve, we will work with our recovery partners to ensure that we follow the most current guidelines.  

NDRI will not knowingly recover or distribute samples from donors suspected to be infected or those that have tested positive for COVID-19 infection. 

 Research samples should always be treated using Universal Precautions.
