NDRI works with academic and corporate investigators worldwide to advance research on debilitating conditions related to illness or injury to the brain and nervous system.
NDRI works directly with Organ Procurement Organizations (OPOs), tissue banks, hospitals, pathologists, medical examiners, and recovery specialists across the United States to coordinate the collection of human tissues 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
We tailor human tissue acquisition to meet the specific needs of approved research projects. NDRI can provide tissue types for all of your research needs. This includes:
NDRI’s Human Tissue and Organs for Research Resource (HTORR) Program has been funded by the National Institutes of Health (NIH) for over 30 years to support research programs across multiple disciplines, including neuroscience. It is through the HTORR program that NDRI provides biomedical investigators with human organs and tissues from normal donors as well as Alzheimer’s Disease and AD-related dementia (AD/ADRD) donors using customized procurement, processing, and preservation and distribution protocols. NDRI recently received a supplemental grant from the National Institute on Aging (NIA) to increase its focus on AD/ADRD. Click here to learn more!
