Recovery Network

Explore our nationwide recovery network - our sites meet the highest standards.

Since 1980, NDRI has provided human tissues, eyes and other organs to researchers at top universities, hospitals and medical research centers across the United States and internationally. To do this important work, we partner with a nationwide network of more than 130 tissue source sites (TSSs).

The sites in our network — including organ procurement organizations (OPOs), tissue banks, eye banks and hospitals — are located across the country, with concentrations in major metropolitan areas. This wide geographic distribution allows us to provide biospecimens from donor populations with diverse demographics. It also supports timely and efficient provision of tissues directly to researchers.

We have established procedures to evaluate and qualify our TSS network. Dedicated sites must verify that they comply with all applicable federal and state regulations and the standards of professional accreditation agencies, including:

  • Centers for Medical and Medicaid Services (CMS)
  • Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA)
  • Federal Food and Drug Administration (FDA)
  • American Association of Tissue Banks (AATB)
  • Eye Bank Association of America (EBAA)
  • Association of Organ Procurement Organizations (AOPO)
  • Joint Commision (JC)
  • International Air Transport Association (IATA)
  • International Standards Association (ISO9001)

NDRI is a Not-For-Profit (501c3) Corporation.
