Congratulations to Emilie Hattrell who was recently awarded Employee of the Quarter! Emilie is a recent graduate of the University of Sciences in Philadelphia with a B.S. in Biochemistry. She’s a Program Technician for the Developmental Genotype-Tissue Expression (dGTEx) project, an NIH initiative to establish a resource of pediatric human tissues and comprehensive gene expression data. The project aims to collect tissues and build gene expression profiles from at least 120 postmortem pediatric donors to better understand the impact of genomic variation on complex traits and diseases.

As Program Technician, Emilie coordinates the donor screening and recovery of biospecimens from dGTEx donors. She works closely with NDRI’s 24/7 Fulfillment Department to monitor Organ Procurement Organization (OPO) screening, recovery, and shipping activities and manages the day-to-day logistics, data collection, and distribution of biospecimens. Emilie works in highly time-sensitive manner to maximize every donation opportunity presented and plays a key role in advancing dGTEx’s objectives.
